Westchester Creative Arts Therapist | Licensed in NY & CT | Art Therapy for Children, Teens, and Adults
Beth Patane is a compassionate and highly experienced Westchester Creative Arts Therapist with over 25 years in the mental health field. She specializes in using art therapy to support children, adolescents, adults, and seniors as they navigate anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity, and life transitions.
Beth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy with a concentration in child development from St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY. She earned her Master of Science in Art Therapy from the College of New Rochelle, completing her clinical training at Westchester Medical Center, one of the region’s most respected behavioral health institutions.
She is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) in both New York and Connecticut, a Registered and Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Her extensive background includes work in hospitals, schools, nonprofit organizations, and private practice across Westchester County, offering art therapy services to diverse populations.
Beth has successfully supported:
Children and teens with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, and behavioral challenges
Adults facing grief, trauma, loss, and self-esteem issues
Neurodivergent individuals seeking support through creative modalities
Clients in recovery from substance use or co-occurring disorders (MICA)
Oncology patients and medically complex individuals
Beth’s approach is grounded in her deep understanding of child development, neurobiology, and sensory-based therapy. She uses a wide range of art materials to help clients process emotions nonverbally, tapping into deeper layers of thought and feeling. Her sessions create a safe, nurturing environment where clients can develop coping skills, reduce anxiety, and gain confidence—especially when words alone aren't enough.
Through art therapy, Beth helps children and adolescents communicate feelings they may not have the vocabulary to express. She is especially skilled at recognizing unconscious symbolism in children’s artwork, using these insights to support emotional healing and growth. For teens and adults, art therapy becomes a tool for self-exploration, emotional regulation, and creative expression during times of transition or distress.
As a dedicated mentor, Beth also supervises graduate-level art therapy students and provides clinical fieldwork opportunities. She is passionate about training the next generation of creative arts therapists.
Outside of her practice, Beth enjoys cooking, hiking with her rescue dog, and giving back to the community through volunteer work in youth leadership and religious education.
Whether you're seeking therapy for a child who struggles with anxiety, a teen processing identity and self-worth, or an adult coping with stress or loss, Beth Patane is a trusted art therapist in Westchester County who offers a calm, professional space for healing through creativity.
Beth has worked extensively with individuals navigating emotional challenges such as grief, trauma, low self-worth, and major life transitions. Whether a client feels emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or simply needs support, Beth brings a deep understanding and clinical insight to help them move forward. She tailors each session to meet the unique emotional and developmental needs of children, teens, and adults, ensuring a personalized and compassionate approach.
As a Westchester-based art therapist, Beth uses creative modalities like art and play to access the feelings clients may not yet have the words to express. Her sessions often unlock powerful unconscious themes through imagery and metaphor, leading to greater emotional clarity and personal growth. Guided by neurobiological principles, Beth integrates sensory-based art materials to help clients regulate their emotions, calm the nervous system, and build coping skills in a way that feels natural and engaging.
Beth’s commitment to this work is rooted in her own early experience using art to process life’s complexities. Her passion for psychology and creativity began in high school and shaped her path toward becoming a licensed creative arts therapist. Today, she brings that same passion and purpose to her work, helping children, teens, and adults heal, grow, and thrive through the transformative power of art therapy.

Beyond her clinical practice, Beth is deeply committed to the next generation of art therapists. She actively mentors graduate students, providing supervision, training, and hands-on experience through fieldwork placements. Her dedication to ethical, evidence-based practice ensures that aspiring therapists learn the value of combining compassion with creativity to support real emotional growth.
When she’s not in the studio or working with clients, Beth finds inspiration in nature and the simple joys of life. She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, hiking local Westchester trails with her rescue dog, and spending meaningful time with her family. Beth also remains deeply connected to her community by volunteering with local youth through religious education and leading service-based initiatives like Cub Scouts and Scouts.
As a seasoned Westchester creative arts therapist, Beth’s work is grounded in a mission to empower others—from children to young adults and beyond. Her trauma-informed, inclusive approach creates a space where neurodiverse individuals and those navigating life’s transitions can feel safe, seen, and supported. With a strong belief in each person’s ability to grow and heal, she helps clients tap into their strengths and rediscover their voice through art, play, and presence.
