Parents often ask (and it’s such a good question):“How can art therapy actually help with my child’s emotional regulation?”

brain

Here’s the simple science —
When we engage the senses through art — touch, sight, movement — both sides of the brain begin to work together.

🎨 Repetitive strokes calm the amygdala (the brain’s alarm system).
🎨 Color and texture stimulate dopamine, the “feel-good” chemical.
🎨 The body starts to feel what the mind has been holding.

Art helps children move through emotion instead of staying stuck in it.
It’s regulation through creation — and that’s why it works.
